Varnishing the print

varnishing the print
Refinement of the print by varnishing
Varnishing is a process that consists in covering paper, cardboard or other material with special printing varnish. We can varnish the entire surface of print or its selected fragment (selective or spot varnishing). Varnishing the entire surface has a protective function, and at the same time allows you to achieve an aesthetic effect that can be compared to lamination. Selective varnishing, on the other hand, is a great solution if we want to emphasize selected fragments of the printed surface. The varnished element becomes more expressive and attracts attention. In addition, the varnish can be also convex or structural.
Coating prints with varnish is one of the most popular ways of print refining.
Print protection
Protection of the print against damage and abrasion of the ink. The best results are achieved by using UV varnishes, then dispersion varnishes, and finally oil varnishes. It is possible to use varnishes that do not change the color impression (neutral varnishes), which are used only for protection purposes.
Changing the print apperance
Changing the appearance of the whole printout. Varnish allows you to obtain additional visual effects such as gloss or matting. Properly selected, it can revive the color and bring out its depth.
Highlighting important items
Thanks to the use of selective (spot) UV varnish, we can emphasize and highlight selected elements on the printed product, which significantly attracts the eyes of customers and is an irreplaceable aesthetic value.
